{ Local Logos } -- The Vision Behind The Blog

{ Where It All Started }

Local Logos was inspired by my Great-Grandma. When I was younger, she lived in a little itty-bitty yellow cottage. Some tycoons told her that they wanted to pay her for her home so they could knock it down and build apartments in the area.

She refused!

And to this day, there's a little yellow cottage house in the middle of several stories-tall apartments all up and down her street. She's long since passed away, but her tenacity hasn't died with her! Her house is STILL there, even to this day. That's what got me thinking...

...about local businesses.
About the Mom and Pop places.
The Mompreneurs.
The people trying to start up their own business.

The small businesses rubbing shoulders with the giants like Walmart and Target and Best Buy.

I want to see these "little guys" succeed.
I want to see people succeed in what they do.
I want them to be using their God-given talents and dreams and succeeding at what they do.
I want to see local businesses flourishing and doing well.

I want to see them survive like my great-grandma's house did in the midst of bigger looming territory all around them.

I want to see David to win out victory over Goliath.

So...I started thinking...Why not create a website that spotlights local and small businesses? I am a photographer and have been blogging for awhile now on my photography blog (http://www.bebaphotography.com/).

People don't always write responses on my blog, but according to analytics, I'm getting several views from all over the world. I thought, why not give exposure to these small local businesses and use that for something good?

My idea is to take photos of small and local businesses and feature them from the perspective of "behind the scenes" of their operation and to show people why they are set apart from these big companies. Why they are different. What goes into creating their business....And why people should pursue these small local businesses and support them.

My idea is to put a personal spin on businesses and show them up close and personal. To create a blog-like yellow pages for the local area.

I want to see local businesses here in AZ flourishing.

I want to see the economy strengthened again. I want our cities to directly benefit from customers coming to them, right here in town. Not that I don't want to see the other bigger companies succeed, but I want to see the little guy be given a chance.

A fair shot.

The idea behind Local Logos is:

"Where SMALL businesses are a BIG deal."
